Six months ago, I started streaming on Twitch. Twitch is a content creation platform where most people play video games and build communities. The other day, I reached a major milestone and earned Twitch Affiliate. Essentially this means that I unlocked the ability to give back to the small community that I have been building with a custom viewing experience, but I also can receive revenue from ads and subscriptions.
It’s been amazing to meet new people and have conversations with them in my chat. I have started to read short stories and poetry that I have created, and I even bring out Taco, my puppet macaw, from time to time. Most people enjoy watching my cat Saka on her very own CatCam too! I’m super grateful for the community and support I’ve had so far. But I want to really be able to give back to my community and unlock more features! In order to do that, I need more Subscribers.
Fun fact about Twitch, it is owned by Amazon and when you want to enhance your experience when watching a creator on Twitch you can use your hard-earned cash to pay for a subscription to the creator. This unlocks special bonuses for you and helps grow that streamer’s(aka my) community. HOWEVER, if you have Amazon Prime you get one free subscription to any creator on the platform that you choose! It doesn’t cost you any extra, and it greatly benefits the content creator with a little extra dough.
For the rest of this post I will show you how to do it! (If you already have amazon prime, it would really help me out if you could do this for me!)
When you first go to www.twitch.tv you’ll likely need to sign up for an account or login if you already have one.
Once you do that come back here!
The next pop up will ask what you’re interested in. you can click a random one and click Done, or search CaptainCabbagepatch in the search bar to find me!
If you searched for me, you should see a page that looks like this!
If you’ve made it this far GREAT! Now, leave that tab open and go to https://gaming.amazon.com/home
That page will look something like this, and you just need to login in the top right with your Amazon account. Don’t worry, if you’re already logged in, since this site is just an extension of Amazon.com, it may have already kept you logged in.
Once you’re signed in look in the top left corner for the LINK TWITCH ACCOUNT option:
When you click it, it will pop up with this window:
All you have to do is click Link accounts, accept it on the next page, and you’re ready to go! Simply return to the www.twitch.tv/captaincabbagepatch window and refresh the page.
See that purple button that says * Subscribe? Click on it and a window should open like this:
Go ahead and click on that Subscribe Free button, then set a reminder for yourself to come back and click that button again in a month!
